The New York Mets and New York Yankees face off on Tuesday in an MLB doubleheader at Yankee Stadium. On Monday it was the Yankees that were able to secure the 4-2 victory.
The Mets come into this game with a 79-45 record overall and they had won three of four games before losing on Monday. On Sunday the Mets scored 10 runs but on Monday it was the lack of scoring that really let them down. Overall the Mets are averaging 4.79 runs per game which is 5th best in the league. On the other side of this matchup is the Yankees who hope this series against the Yankees is what they need to get on the right track. The Yankees have won two games in a row and the pitching has been good giving up only four runs during the two games. Even though they have been winning, the Yankees offense still hasn’t had a breakout game. The Yankees are averaging 5.03 runs per game which is second in the league. Aaron Judge has hit 47 home runs and driven in 103 RBIs.
