New York Knicks (13-9) vs. Utah Jazz (7-16) 

The 2023-24 NBA season continues Wednesday, December 13, with a busy nine-game slate including this interconference showdown at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, so here’s the best Knicks vs. Jazz pick.  

These two teams have not met this season. New York will be without C Mitchell Robinson and SG Immanuel Quickley is listed as day-to-day. Utah will be without the services of PF Lauri Markkanen and both C Walker Kessler and PF John Collins are a game-time decision.

The New York Knicks (13-9, 11-9-2 ATS) defeated the Toronto Raptors on Monday, 136-130. The team now heads to the road to begin a five-game trip starting in Utah. New York is 6-6 on the road (6-5-1 ATS), but have lost three of their last four road contests.

The Knicks held a six-point lead at the half. Toronto was able to pull within one, but New York pulled away in the final frame. Julius Randle led the way, producing 34 points, while adding eight rebounds and five assists. He hit 14 of 21 shots, taking just three three-point attempts. 

“You need everybody. We’ve got to get everyone playing well together to bring the best out of each other and if we do that, we’ll have a good chance to win,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau explained after the game, speaking abou t the injuries depleting the bench.

New York shot 60.5% from the floor, including going 17-29 (58.6%) from three-point range. That is a major improvement as the Knicks are 24th in field goal percentage (45.7%), but are sixth in three-point shooting (38.6%).  Randle is an MVP candidate, averaging 22.0 ppg, 9.6 rpg, and 5.4 apg. 

The Knicks are 7-3 in their last 10, but only 3-6-1 ATS. They are 4-6-0 against the total in their last 10. The Knicks are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, allowing 109.7 points per game (5th), with opponents averaging just 85.5 attempts per game, fourth best.
