Grizzlies star Ja Morant gave his team a late lead with a putback make, and New York’s Jalen Brunson missed a pair of shots in the lane on the following possession. Brunson did finish with 30 points though, cracking the 30-point mark for the third straight game.

The Knicks do have one reason to be confident entering this game, as it beat Detroit on Oct. 21 and Nov. 11. Brunson leads the team with 21.8 points, 6.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. Power forward Julius Randle is adding 20.6 points and 8.7 rebounds, while R.J. Barrett is the only other player in double figures (18.6). The Knicks have relied on their offense to win games this season, as they rank ninth in the NBA in scoring (114.6). They are facing a Detroit defense that is No. 25, allowing 116.7 points per game. New York guard Immanuel Quickley is listed as questionable on the injury report.
