The New York Knicks travel to Dallas hoping to get back to their winning ways. After streaking to eight straight wins and moving up the Eastern Conference standing, New York has now lost three straight games. On Christmas Day, the Knicks jumped out to a 12-point lead after the first quarter and held the lead throughout the first three quarters of the game. In the fourth quarter, however, they were outscored 24-9 to start the quarter and their game-long lead turned into a 116-102 deficit. Julius Randle led the Knicks with 35 points and Jalen Brunson had 23 points and 11 assists. The Knicks dominated the glass, with a 46-22 edge. However, the Knicks defense allowed Philadelphia to shoot 50% from the field overall and 46% from the 3pt range.

“Again, we’re just not doing enough to win right now and that’s what we have to fix,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said.

The Knicks' win streak was led by the team's ability to rebound and defend. New York is second in the NBA in defensive field goal percentage, sixth in 3pt defense and fourth in rebounding. They are, however, allowing nearly 117 points per game during this current losing streak and allowing teams to shoot 48% from the field. The Knicks will need to tighten things up on the perimeter, particularly against a Dallas team that thrives on shooting the three-ball.

Key Injury: Keep an eye on Jalen Brunson. The Knicks point guard suffered a hip injury at the end of the Sixers' game and is considered day-to-day.
