The New York Knicks will visit the Atlanta Hawks for an NBA Eastern Conference showdown on Friday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

New York (0-1 SU, 0-0-1 ATS, 0-1 O/U) lost 108-14 to Boston in its season opener. Atlanta (0-1 SU, 0-1 ATS, 0-1 O/U) dropped its first game of the season 116-110 to Charlotte. Last season, these teams split their four regular-season meetings.

The Hawks are two-point spread favorites and the game total is 227.5 points.

Knicks: No injuries.

Hawks: SG Wesley Matthews (calf) is out.

The Knicks were unable to finish the job at home on Wednesday, as the Celtics found their groove down the stretch to claim the victory. New York attempted 20 more shots than Boston but was an inefficient 36-for-97 (37.1%) from the field and 14-for-26 at the foul line (53.8%). The C's also outscored the Knickerbockers 42-24 in the paint.

New York didn't make any major adjustments to its lineup in the offseason, as Jalen Brunson (24.0 PPG and 6.2 APG), R.J. Barrett (19.6 PPG and 5.0 RPG), and Julius Randle (25.1 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 4.1 APG) will be the keys to the ignition. With Immanuel Quickley (14.9 PPG), Josh Hart (9.8 PPG and 7.8 RPG), and new addition Donte DiVincenzo (9.4 PPG) flanking them, the Knicks will be a tough out for any of the East's title conders in the postseason.

Last season, NY averaged 116.0 points per game (11th) and shot 47.0 percent from the floor (20th), including 35.4 percent from three-point range (19th). Its opponents averaged 113.1 points (13th) and shot 46.2 percent (3rd) with a 35.7 shooting percentage from long distance (12th). The Knicks ranked 26th in pace of play, per Dunks and Threes.
