New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-4-2022

The New York Jets (7-4, 7-4 ATS, 4-7 O/U) collide with the Minnesota Vikings (9-2, 5-5-1 ATS, 6-5 O/U) in an inter-conference battle on Sunday afternoon. The Jets posted a home win against the Bears last week. The Vikings collected a home win against the Patriots in their previous action. These combatants last met in 2018 in a 37-17 Vikings win.

The New York Jets are targeting their fifth road win of the season. They rebounded from a 10-3 road loss to the Patriots with a dominating 31-10 home victory against the Bears last week to easily cover for the large 8.5-point spread. They remain just one game out of first place and hold a Wildcard spot. New York has won two out of its last three games including a win against the Bills. The Jets have been reliable on the road, covering the spread in four of their five road games on the season.

Mike White got the start in last week’s victory in place of the struggling Zach Wilson and it’s safe to say he will be starting this one. The 27-year-old recorded 315 passing yards and three touchdowns against Chicago in his first action of the season. White now has an 8:8 TD to INT ratio in five career NFL games.

The J ets are dealing with injuries to the running backs. Breece Hall has landed on the IR and Michael Carter injured his ankle last week and did not practice Thursday. He is questionable. Rookie Zonovan White posted 69 rushing yards last week and will likely see a majority of the carries if Carter doesn't play. Garrett Wilson continues to shine. The rookie WR has logged at least 92 receiving yards in three out of his last four games and now has 628 receiving yards. The New York offense has reached the 30-point mark on three occasions this season after last week’s performance.

The Jets' defense continues to stifle the opposition. They have conceded 17 or fewer points in three straight games after limiting the Bears to only 292 total yards last week. C.J. Mosley has been outstanding, while Sauce Gardner has been one of the best CBs in the league. The pass defense is especially stellar, marking 8th while the rush defense is 12th. New York is averaging 20.9 points, ranking them 20th. They are limiting opponents to only 17.8 points, placing them fourth in the NFL.
