The Green Bay Packers play host to the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon in a crucial AFC vs. NFC showdown from Wisconsin. The Jets have been one of the league’s best surprises this season and with two wins in a row, they’ll be looking to spring the upset on the road. For the Packers, it has been a season filled with ups and downs but after last week’s loss, they’ll be eyeing a win in this one. Green Bay will certainly be favored but there’s little doubt that this could end up being a close game.
The Jets have been the laughingstock of the AFC East over the last few seasons but suddenly, they look like a group that can give anyone trouble. Two wins in a row have confidence sky-high for this group and now that they also welcome back some key pieces this week, as others get further acclimated, they have the ability to put Green Bay in a difficult position. Going on the road is never easy and while the Jets have been playing winning football, taking on the Packers is a whole new challenge considering some of the more recent teams on their schedule.
The Jets have found some success this year and their ability to stay healthy has helped quite a bit towards that. Only four players have been ruled out for Sunday's contest but with three tackles part of that four, that's a massive concern. Eyes also turn to the status of CJ Mosley (hip) and Carl Lawson (ankle), who are both questionable. The defense can affor d to be without so many familiar faces on the weekend.

Offensively, the Jets have shown a massive improvement this season and even though they rank 24th in the league in rushing, their ability to move the ball through the air has been impressive. They rank ninth in the league in passing yards per game and with Zach Wilson back in the fold at quarterback, that number is bound to only improve. Taking care of the ball has been the one concern for this group and against the Packers, they can't afford to give away possessions or short-field possession.
The Jets have been strong on the defensive side of the ball and while they do battle some injuries on that side in this one, they have the depth to make things interesting for the Packers. The Jets rank tenth in total defense and passing defense, while only slightly worse when it comes to rushing defense. The Packers are likely to pose some new challenges for this New York team but if the Jets can limit the big play opportunities, it could be enough for them to spring the upset.
