The New York Giants travel to Philadelphia on Christmas Day to take on the struggling Eagles in an NFC East showdown. The Giants are 5-9 on the season and have all but been eliminated from the playoffs this season. The Eagles come in at 10-4 overall and still atop the NFC East but have dropped three straight games following Monday Night's disappointing loss at Seattle. This will be the first of two meetings between the two teams over the final three weeks of the season. The opening kick is slated for 4:30 PM EST on Monday.

The New York Giants' season thus far has been a far cry from last year's playoff appearance that ended with a loss to the Eagles in the first round of the playoffs. The Giants can, however, play the role of spoiler with two games against the Eagles in the final three weeks of the season. Unfortunately, if the Giants play like they did in New Orleans on Sunday, the Eagles will come away with a season sweep. On Sunday, the Giants fell 24-6 to the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans as the Giants' offense and new fan-favorite Tommy DeVito struggled. DeVito finished 20-of-34 for just 177 yards through the air. The Giants did get a good performance out of returning tight end Darren Waller, out for the past five games with a hamstring issue, who had four catches for 40 yards. Overall, however, the Giants struggled to move the ball with just 193 yards of total offense and went a miserable 2-of-16 on third down.
&#x 201C;Collectively it was just not good enough,” Giants coach Brian Daboll said. “You can pretty much take any area. Nothing was where it needed to be.”
The Giants' offense struggled on Sunday and that has been much the case through an injury-filled season especially at quarterback. They are 31st in the NFL in points per game and 31st in total offense. The Giants have done better recently rushing the football, ranked 7th in the league in the last month, but are still just 18th overall. The Giants are last in the league in passing. Defensively, the Giants have shown vast improvement despite the loss at New Orleans. They are 9th in points allowed over the last month and 10th in total defense. The most improved area has been the Giants pass defense. They are 19th overall this season but are sixth in the NFL over the last month. The Giants protect the ball well, ranked 8th in giveaways this season and they have been effective in creati ng takeaways, ranked 9th.
Key Injuries: OT M. Peart (shoulder), RB G.Brightwell (hamstring), and WR P.Campbell (knee) are all questionable. K R.Bullock (hamstring) is doubtful.
