New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-8-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas

The New York Giants (9-6-1, 12-4 ATS, 6-8 O/U) collide with the Philadelphia Eagles (13-3, 8-8 ATS, 10-6 O/U) in a divisional showdown on Sunday afternoon. The Giants posted a dominating home win against the Colts last week. The Eagles were dealt a surprising home loss by the Saints in their previous bout. Philadelphia posted a dominating 48-22 road win against New York last month.

The New York Giants have clinched a Wildcard spot. They have won three out of their last four games to secure the playoff berth. The lone defeat in that span was against the Vikings. The Giants were marked large 7.5-point favorites in a convincing 38-10 home win last week. This game is quite meaningless in the standings and the Giants will likely be resting players. They have covered the spread in three consecutive games.

Daniel Jones continues to excel. The 25-year-old QB has connected on at least 65% of his passes in five consecutive games and amassed 177 passing yards last week. Jones has collected 3205 passing yards and a 15:5 TD to INT ratio. Backup Tyrod Taylor will see action. He has starting experience but has been a backup for the past few seasons.

Saquon Barkley only had 58 rushing yards last week but has eclips ed 80 yards in two out of his last three games. Barkley has logged 1312 rushing yards on 4.4 yards per rush. Matt Breida could see extended action. The 27-year-old RB has 133 rushing yards. Darius Slayton has accrued a total of 192 receiving yards in his last three games. The 25-year-old WR leads the squad with 724 receiving yards. The New York offense has registered at least 22 points in three out of their last four games. Last week’s 38-point output was their best of the season.

The Giants' defense has been solid. The unit held the Commanders to 12 points three games ago and only 252 total yards on 10 points last week. They could be resting several key defensive players. CB Adoree’ Jackson did not play last week and is not expected to pay. The pass defense is their best attribute, marking 15th while the rush defense is 28th. New York is scoring an average of 21.8 points, placing them 15th. They are conceding an average of 21.8 points, positioning them 16th in the NFL.
