New Orleans Pelicans (4-2) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (1-5)

The New Orleans Pelicans head to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Wednesday night to start a four-game regular-season series against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pels open as 3.5-point road favorites, while the totals are listed at 230.0 points.  

New Orleans is still without Brandon Ingram, who’s missed the last three games due to a concussion. On the other side, the Lakers cannot count on Dennis Schroder (thumb) and Thomas Bryant (thumb), while Anthony Davis is questionable to play due to back problems. 

The New Orleans Pelicans are coming off a 112-91 dismantling of the Los Angeles Clippers this past Sunday. Playing as small 2-point road underdogs, the Pelicans held the Clippers to 39 second-half points to improve to 4-2 straight up and ATS on the young season. New Orleans shot 49.5% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc (15-for-36), while Zion Williamson led the way with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. 

“We got some special shooters on this team,” Williamson said. “I'm able to find them and they knock the shots down.” 

CJ McCollum had another good game, finishing with 22 points, five boards, and three assists. Naji Marshall went 3-for-5 from deep, accounting for 17 points and four assists, while Larry Nance Jr. added 15 points an d nine rebounds off the bench. 

The Pelicans boast the third-highest offensive rating in the NBA, tallying 118.9 points per 100 possessions. They are third in the league in field goal percentage (48.9%), too, and second in 3-point percentage (40.0%). The Pelicans surrender 111.7 points per 100 possessions (13th in the league) on 46.3% shooting from the field (tied-12th) and 31.9% from beyond the 3-point line (2nd).
