New Orleans Pelicans (31-32) vs. Golden State Warriors (32-30)
The 2022-23 NBA season continues Friday, March 3, with the New Orleans Pelicans taking on the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference battle at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
New Orleans meets Golden State for the third time this season, and the Pelicans shoot for their third straight victory over the Warriors. The Pels are without Zion Williamson, Larry Nance Jr., and Jose Alvarado, while the Warriors cannot count on Stephen Curry, Gary Payton II, and Andre Iguodala.
The New Orleans Pelicans (31-32; 29-33-1 ATS) are coming off Wednesday’s 121-110 victory at the Portland Trail Blazers. The Pels put an end to their four-game losing streak mostly thanks to Brandon Ingram, who dropped 40 points on the Blazers.
Only three Pelicans scored in double figures last Wednesday. CJ McCollum notched 24 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while Jaxson Hayed had 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a couple of steals and blocks in just 16 minutes on the floor. The Pels shot 51.7% from the field (9-for-25 from deep) and committed a paltry six turnovers while handing out 23 dishes.
“I’m extremely proud of Brandon. I thought on one of the biggest stages, a nationally televised game, he comes out and he dominates. And t hat’s what we need from him,” Pelicans coach Willie Green said. “He’s one of the better players in the league and when we put the ball in his hands, makes great decisions, finds his teammates. He and CJ both, they just put us on their back and they carried us.”

The Pelicans are tied with the Utah Jazz for the No. 10 seed in the West. With Zion Williamson out for a few more weeks, the Pels will continue to lean on Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum. Jonas Valanciunas sat out the Blazers game due to a calf injury and is questionable to play Friday versus Golden State.
