The Detroit Pistons (12-33) will host the New Orleans Pelicans (25-17) on Friday in a Western vs. Eastern Conference matchup. The Pels beat the Pistons 104-98 as an 11-point favorite in New Orleans when these teams last met on December 7.
The New Orleans Pelicans are contenders in the changing Western Conference, sitting third behind Denver and Memphis. The Pelicans have been a force at home this season but have struggled on the road with an 8-12 record. Against the spread, New Orleans is 21-21 overall.
The Pelicans have lost five of its last seven games following a 125-114 loss at Boston on Wednesday. CJ McCollum dropped 38 points in the loss on 15 of 24 shooting. The Pelicans were without both Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson in the most recent loss. Ingram has not played since November 25 and was averaging 20.8 ppg in 15 games this season. Zion Williamson leads the team with 26 ppg but has not played since January 2 and will be evaluated in three weeks.

On the season, the Pelicans are ninth shooting 48% from the floor and 11th making 36.5% on threes. They are 14th allowing opponents to shoot 47% from the floor defensively, and fourth holding teams to 34.3% from three. Overall, New Orleans is sixth in offensive efficiency and seventh in defensive efficiency.
