The Indiana Pacers play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night.
The New Orleans Pelicans have been in decent form as they’ve won five of their first nine games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting stopped by the Hawks in a 124-121 overtime road loss on Saturday. Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum each scored 29 points, Herbert Jones added 19 points with nine rebounds while Brandon Ingram chipped in with 16 points and seven assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot just 43 percent from the field and seven of 23 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an early 13-point deficit, only to come up just short in overtime where the Hawks opened with a pivotal 8-2 run to steal the game late.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be looking to stay hot after sneaking past the Heat in a 101-99 home win on Friday. Buddy Hield led the way with 25 points on 10 of 18 shooting, Benedict Mathurin added 23 points off the bench, Tyrese Haliburton scored 22 points with nine rebounds and nine assists while Myles Turner chipped in with 16 points and three blocks. As a team, the Pacers shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 39 from the 3-point line as they surrendered an early 16-point lead, before escaping with a bit of luck as the Heat missed the potential game-winner.
