The Brooklyn Nets play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Barclays Center on Wednesday night.
The New Orleans Pelicans finished their regular season on a bit of a high note to finish with 36 wins and they will be eager to build on that now that they have their star players back. CJ McCollum led the team with averages of 24.3 points and 5.8 assists per game, Brandon Ingram averaged 22.7 points and 5.6 assists per game while Jonas Valanciunas averaged 17.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. As a team, the Pelicans scored 109.3 points per game, while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from the 3-point line. Zion Williamson was the missing piece all season, but he looks to be in great shape and should be ready for the season opener.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets will have their sights set on returning to the playoffs after falling short last season. Kevin Durant led the team with averages of 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game, Kyrie Irving averaged 27.4 points and 5.8 assists in the 29 games he played, LaMarcus Aldridge averaged 12.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while Patty Mills averaged 11.4 points and 2.3 assists per game. As a team, the Nets scored 112.9 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from the 3-point line.
