The New Jersey Devils face the Vegas Golden Knights with both teams looking to improve on remarkable seasons. The Devils have a 40-15-5 record and with a three-game winning streak, they have the second-best record in the Metropolitan Division. The Golden Knights have a 36-19-6 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games have leaped into first place in the Pacific Division. Both teams look to remain near the top of their respective conferences and improve their playoff position and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Devils are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.57 goals per game with 18 goals in the last three games. Jack Hughes, Jesper Bratt, and Nico Hischier have scored 86 goals and 102 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also been great. Dawson Mercer, Tomas Tatar, and Yegor Sharangovich have combined for 46 goals and 61 assists while defenseman Dougie Hamilton has added 18 goals and 40 assists from the point to open up the offense. Moreover, when Timo Meier, who they acquired by the deadline, starts to make his mark in the lineup, the offense looks to only improve in the coming weeks.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.67 goals per game. Ryan Graves and Jonas Seigenthaler have combined for 8.6 defensive point shares and 225 blocked shots while Dougie Hamilton, John Marino, and Damon Severson have combined for 9.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. Additionally, goaltender Vitek Vanecek has been great with a .910 save percentage and a 2.46 goals-against average on 987 shots with 4.5 goals saved above average.
