The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Illinois Fighting Illini will take the field on Friday night at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. CT. The Illini are 3.5-point spread favorites and the game total is 43 points.

Nebraska (2-3 SU and 2-3 ATS) was dropped 45-7 by Michigan last week. The Huskers are 0-2 SU in Big Ten play this season.

Illinois (2-3 SU and 0-5 ATS) lost 44-19 to Purdue last week. The Illini are also 0-2 in B1G play. Both teams are seeking their first win over a Power-Five conference team.

Last season, the Fighting Illini defeated the Huskers 26-9.

Nebraska: LB Luke Reimer (2.5 sacks) and DB DeShon Singleton (one PBU) are out. QB Jeff Sims (220 passing yards, one TD, and four INTs) and DL Cameron Lenhardt (two sacks) are questionable.&# 13;

Illinois: RB Reggie Love III (44 carries for 248 rushing yards and one score) is questionable.

Nebraska hasn't fared well when it mattered, losing by 63 combined points to Minnesota, Colorado, and Michigan. It has some talent but when will it show up on game day?

In last week's humbling home defeat to the second-ranked Wolverines, the Huskers allowed 436 total yards of offense, as Michigan rushed for 249 yards on 51 carries (4.9 YPC). The visitors also dominated the time of possession, holding the football for 16 more minutes than Nebraska. NU came into the game with the Big Ten's top rushing offense, but UM held it to a season-low 106 yards on the ground — 74 of which came on a fourth-quarter scramble when the Wolverines led 45-0.

Nebraska scores 18.8 points per game (122nd) and averages 348.4 total yards (95th), including 139.4 passing yards (127th) and 209.0 rushing yards (15th). With Georgia Tech transfer QB Jeff Sims sidelined, s ophomore Heinrich Haarberg has taken over as the Cornhuskers' QB1. The dual-threat option has passed for 477 yards, four touchdowns, and a pick, and has added a team-high 270 rushing yards on 51 carries (5.3 YPC) with two rushing scores. Senior RB Anthony Grant (44 carries for 240 yards and two TDs) and sophomore Gabe Ervin Jr. (38 carries for 196 yards and one score) are two other playmakers for the Huskers.

NU surrenders 23.8 points (60th) and 325.6 total yards (37th) per game, including 238.8 passing yards (85th) and 86.8 rushing yards (15th). The Cornhuskers have registered 14 sacks (29th) and four takeaways (111th) this season. Their opponents have converted 44.0 percent of their third downs (99th) and 100 percent of their red zone trips into scores (last).
