Bowl game season is underway after an exciting 2022 college football campaign. One successful program taking part in the postseason once again is the NC State Wolfpack, who will face Maryland in the Duke's Mayo Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30.

NC State Bowl Game History
College football fans shouldn't be surprised to learn NC State has built a storied bowl game history over the years. The Wolfpack are bowl eligible for the third season in a row and have played in a total of 34 bowl games all-time prior to their Duke's Mayo Bowl appearance set for Friday afternoon.
NC State's first bowl appearance came in the 1947 Gator Bowl under head coach Beattie Feathers. The Wolfpack fell short in a 34-13 loss to Oklahoma and didn't earn their first bowl win unt il 20 years later. That win came when they took down the Georgia by a score of 14-7 in the 1967 Liberty Bowl.
The Wolfpack's most recent bowl appearance came in last year's Holiday Bowl, but it ended up being cancelled. They took part in the 2021 Gator Bowl against Kentucky and lost by a score of 23-21. NC State will get a chance to snap its two-game bowl losing streak in front of the Charlotte crowd.
