Neither team won their conference, but both the No. 11 seed NC State Wolfpack (23-10, 16-15-2 ATS) and No. 6 seed Creighton Bluejays (21-12, 16-17-0 ATS) had fantastic seasons that earned them March Madness bids. Now, they will collide trying to keep their season alive. These schools are in the South Region and get to spend their first weekend in Denver, Colorado. Inside Ball Arena at 4:00 p.m. EST this Friday, one of these schools will experience its final tipoff of the season.

Heading into conference play, NC State was 7-1, and the only loss was by six to the Kansas Jayhawks, the defending national champions. They lost their first two ACC games, and while they settled in and played stronger towards the end of the year, nine of their 10 losses this season came against conference foes. So, the team that KenPom has rated 58th should breathe easy now that the ACC is off their schedule for the immediate future.

Their final stretch of games saw them drop three of four, with Clemson bouncing the Wolfpack from the ACC Tournament. Clemson beat NC State all three times they clashed. The conference tournament game was the worst of the three though, a 26-point defeat that NC State trailed in the whole second half of. They got outshot and outrebounded by the Tigers. Senior Jack Clark was solid, with 10 points, seven boards, four steals, and three assists in the contest.

The offens ive end was NC State's strength, as they were 36th in adjusted efficiency on that end per KenPom. The Wolfpack averaged 78.2 points per game, the 35th-most in the nation, with solid efficiency. On defense, NC State is 87th in adjusted efficiency. They specialize in coming away with steals, ranking 55th nationally with 7.9 per game, while also blocking 4.6 shots per game which is 32nd.

They'll be shorthanded though, with Greg Gantt questionable and Dusan Mahorcic is still out with a knee injury.
