The NC State Wolfpack and Clemson Tigers face off on Saturday in a Week 5 college football showdown at Clemson Memorial Stadium. When these two teams faced off last year it was NC State that secured the 27-21 victory in overtime. 

NC State comes into this game with a 4-0 record overall and in the last game against UConn, they were able to secure the 41-10 victory. At the end of the first quarter, NC State was up 17-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Under center for NC State is Devin Leary and he completed 32 of his 44 passes for 320 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Thayer Thomas had a big game catching five passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. NC State is averaging 36 points while their defense is giving up 11.8 points per game. The defense is ranked best in college football. 

On the other side of this matchup is Clemson who sits with a 4-0 record and they have gone 1-3 against the spread. Clemson’s last game came against Wake Forest, and it took overtime, but they were able to secure the 51-45 victory. Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had a big game completing 26 of his 41 passes for 371 yards and five touchdowns. There were some questions about him, heading into the game but he answered some questions. Clemson is averaging 43.8 points while their defense is giving up 21.8 points per game. In this game they are going to need good quarterback play again.
