North Carolina A&T have a tall task in playing the host UTEP Miners to kick off the Don Haskins Invitational on Wednesday night. The Aggies are just 1-6 in games played away from their home floor this year including 0-3 in true road games. They come into the invitational losers of two of their last three games including a 70-66 loss to Norfolk State on Sunday afternoon. North Carolina A&T shot 48% from 3pt range as they were forced into a smaller lineup with an injury to 6-9 forward Austin Johnson early in the game. Kam Woods led the Aggies with 15 points, six assists and five rebounds while shooting 4-of-9 from 3pt range. Marcus Watson chipped in with 12 points and Demetric Horton finished with 11 points including 3-of-6 from long range.

“The first few minutes of the game, we lost our tallest player, Austin Johnson,” said A&T interim head coach Phillip Shumpert. “But our guys responded, fought and did a h eckuva job throughout the basketball game. It came down to one play. It was a play we should have capitalized on but didn't. So, we've got to move on and get ready for the next opponent.”

NC A&T average 71 points per game while giving up 70.1 points per game. They are shooting just 42% from the field and allowing the opposition to shoot 44%. They are averaging nine 3pt field goals per game while giving up six per contest. With the team's lack of size, it is not surprising that they are being out-rebounded by nearly three per game. The Aggies are turning the ball over 13 times per game while forcing nearly 14.5 per game.
