NBA Sixth Man of the Year odds 2023: Favorite
Just a few short months ago, Westbrook led the field with odds from +130 to +150 and Boston Celtics guard Malcolm Brogdon was at +350 to +420. Now, Brogdon is the consensus favorite for the award.
Brogdon has been an integral piece of the 44-18 Celtics, averaging 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 25.5 bench minutes per game.
NBA Sixth Man of the Year odds 2023: Contenders
Speaking of the odds shif t, Norman Powell of the Los Angeles Clippers was available at +12000 odds via FanDuel in December. Now he's as short as +250 at Caesars and trails only Brogdon as the favorite.
Not only has the competition thinned out, but Powell has emerged as a lethal bench scorer for the playoff-bound Clips. He ranks behind only Paul George and Kawhi Leonard in team scoring, averaging 16.9 points per game in 25.9 minutes.
The odds vary greatly for Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey, who is available at +350 at Caesars and +1500 at FanDuel. The discrepancy is likely due to Maxey bouncing in and out of the starting lineup. He has 22 starts out of 41 games played and is averaging 32.5 minutes.
If he qualifies for Sixth Man of the Year by the end of the season, you may want to be holding a +1500 ticket, as Maxey averages 19.5 points for the 39-21 Sixers.
NBA Sixth Ma n of the Year odds 2023: Long shots
Bobby Portis is settled in as the bench leader for the Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks and is averaging just shy of a double-double with 14.2 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.
His odds are as short as +2500 at PointsBet, so the +5000 offered by DraftKings represents amazing value.
Christian Wood of the Dallas Mavericks was also averaging near a double-double while playing with a solid facilitator in Luka Doncic. However, he's now at 17.5 points per game and eight rebounds.
If the Mavericks do begin to win games at a consistent rate, Wood could see his odds climb toward the favorites, particularly as Doncic and Kyrie Irving search for assistance.
