Wednesday's NBA player props

It's official: the Wizards have overtaken the Pacers as the most generous defense in the Association, allowing 126.3 points overall, including 126.9 at home. The Pelicans head to Washington potentially without Zion Williamson, who's listed as questionable with an ankle injury.

In three games played without Williamson this season, Herb Jones has averaged 15.7 points and scored at least 13 in all of them. Jones has been stellar on both ends of the court this season, and he's averaging 12 points per game overall. He's scored at least 13 in 11 of 21 contests, including three of his last five.

Jones has totaled just 17 points across his last two outings, but those games were against two top-10 defenses in the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers. He's scored at least 13 points in five of seven matchups against bottom-10 defenses this season.

Over the last four games, no player has averaged more rebounds than San Antonio's star rookie. In that span, Victor Wembanyama has pulled down 15 boards per tilt, and even in a tough matchup, he should be able to grab at least 13.

The Spurs made the move to shift Zach Collins to the bench and put Wemby at center in each of the last two games, and that move resulted in the latter pulling down 20 and 18 rebounds, the two highest totals of his career.

The Lakers allow the 11th-fewest rebounds to opponents, but this is the second game of a back-to-back set. In two of the last three games played on the second of a back-to-back, the Lakers have allowed two players to pull down at least 12 rebounds and four to pull down at least 10.

Wemby has grabbed at least 12 boards in five of his last 10 and three of his last four. This prop has gotten a lot of juice at 11.5 rebounds, and the -130 odds at our other best sports betting apps just won't cut it here. We'll take the plus-money odds at FanDuel for just one rebound more.

Caleb Martin has been big for the Heat over his last seven games, averaging 18.1 points, six rebounds, and 3.1 assists. In that span, he went for at least 27 PRAs three times, including his most recent appearance against Charlotte. In that one, Martin posted a productive 20/9/5 line.

Martin has been even better over his last three, averaging 32.7 PRAs and hitting 27 in two of those. A big reason for his success has been the absence of Bam Adebayo. Orlando Robinson has started at center while Adebayo has been out, but Robinson played just 22 minutes against the Hornets and 20 in the game prior. Meanwhile, Martin logged a season-high 39 minutes against Charlotte.

The Hornets allow the fifth-most points to opponents and the 12th-most rebounds. Charlotte also allows the third-highest 3-point percentage, which is great news for Martin as a scorer. On the season, he's attempting a career-high 4.1 shots from beyond the arc. With Adebayo out again, we can expect big minutes from Martin and another productive game.

Revenge game against the Grizzlies? Brooks has already faced his former team once this season, and he shot 4-of-14 from the field and 0-of-5 from beyond the arc. We won't bet on him shooting that poorly again, though, especially in a favorable matchup.

In his first season with Houston, Brooks is shooting a career-best 39.6% from beyond the arc. Memphis allows the highest 3-point percentage to opponents at 39.7%, and it also allows the most 3-pointers made.

Brooks has knocked down multiple triples in 10 of his 20 games this season, including three of his last four. Brooks scored two points on 1-of-12 shooting Monday, but he was dealing with an illness in that one. Presumably healthier and in a great bounce-back spot, we'll take the plus-money odds on the Over.
