While this game is on obvious blowout watch, the Washington Wizards have really been struggling to defend big men all year. Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen, whom we bet on in this column, was the most-recent example when he scored 29 points, grabbed 31 rebounds, and recorded 10 assists over two games against the Wizards last week.
Enter Rookie of the Year odds favorite Chet Holmgren, who's producing a better season than anyone could have imagined. Holmgren is averaging 17.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per contest thus far.
We're focusing on the assists market for Monday's matchup, as it's the only Holmgren-related prop that offers any real value. With a projection of 2.8 assists for Holmgren, the Over on 2.5 assists should be priced at -111. Instead, we can get a +124 ticket while shopping at DraftKings, whereas Caesars is as short as +110.
Holmgren has cleared this assist line in four of his last five outings, averaging 3.4 dimes per contest during that span. He recorded seven assists in a win over the league's best team in the Celtics as recently as Jan. 2. We aren't passing up a plus-money price on Holmgren in a matchup against the Association's worst team.
