The Charlotte Hornets will look to cover a double-digit spread at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks, and the Orlando Magic will try to stay hot at home against the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.

NBA top picks

Are we really going to feature a plus-money moneyline wager involving the 76ers for a third Best Bets column in four days? The Sixers cashed for us Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks, but they beat the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, thwarting our upset wager against them. Minnesota will look to get the job done on Tuesday.

Philly is 6-3 against the spread on the second game of a back-to-back set this season, but that mark is just 4-4 when both games of the back-to-back are on the road. Philly played a fast-paced, high-scoring 147-143 contest with Indiana last night, and we'd expect some fatigue to set in as the team plays its fifth straight game on the road. The Wolves have won and covered in three straight, and Minnesota is a superb 10-4 straight up as the home underdog.

At this point, you know the drill. Golden State is bad on the road, and the Thunder have been great ATS at home. We're obviously taking the Thunder to cover, right? Think again. The Warriors won five straight at home without Stephen Curry before dropping a winnable game at Los Angeles on Sunday in Curry's return.

Oklahoma City has Shai Gilgeous-Alexander back after a lengthy absence, and the Thunder have won two straight. Those two wins are a bit empty, however, as they came against a Utah Jazz team missing its star big man Lauri Markkanen.

The Warriors have beaten and covered against the Thunder in both prior matchups this season. Golden State is the more desperate team, looking to move up the Western Conference standings over the final month of the season. The Thunder list Jalen Williams as questionable, and an absence or limitations for him would be a big blow to O klahoma City. We're expecting Curry and Co. to get it done on the road.

The Knicks are on a nine-game win streak as they climb the Eastern Conference standings for the final playoff push. Over those nine games, New York has won by double digits five times, and they come into Tuesday's matchup with Charlotte having won their last two contests by just two points apiece.

New York should win this game, but we're not looking at the moneyline. Instead, we're betting on the Hornets to cover a large spread against a team that is just 10-11-2 ATS as the home favorite this season. Charlotte is 6-5 as a double-digit dog on the road, while the Knicks have failed to cover in each of the games in which they were favored by at least nine at home. The Hornets covered against the Knicks in their only prior matchup at Madison Square Garden this season.

After the team's 16-game win strea k was snapped Saturday, the Bucks bounced back with a six-point win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday. Milwaukee will be on the road again when they face a Magic team that has been stellar at home ATS.

The Magic are 1-1 ATS versus Milwaukee this season, covering at home as 10.5-point dogs back on Dec. 5. The Magic are 15-9 ATS as the home dog and 8-1 when +7 or higher in Orlando. Milwaukee has a favorable 12-5-2 ATS record as the road dog, but that mark is just 3-2 when favored by at least seven on the road.

Milwaukee could be without star point guard Jrue Holiday, giving Orlando an even greater chance to cover in front of the home crowd.
