The finalists from last season got the 2022-2023 NBA season started last night, and now its time for the rest of the league to join in. One of the most interesting matchups will be between the Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks. The Grizzlies were a surprise package last season and will be determined to show that it was not a fluke. The visitors tonight however, will be keen to avoid last years disappointment.
Lets jump straight into my same game parlay selections for this East vs West matchup.
Jalen Brunson to score 20+ points (-112)
After signing a mega contract in the offseason, Jalen Brunson will be keen to start winning over his new fanbase with immediate effect. He certainly has the talent to do it, having averaged 16.3 points per game on just 12.8 field goal attempts per game last season. Now no longer playing second fiddle to Luka Doncic, Brunson should be set to have an offensive outburst this season, starting with opening night. Brunson is not someone that is a major threat from the 3-point line, rather thriving from the mid-range and in the paint. The absence of Jaren Jackson Jr. for the Grizzlies should certainly help him score, as Jackson Jr. is the Grizzlies main rim protector. Back Brunson to have a strong debut tonight.
