The Nashville Predators face the Vancouver Canucks with both teams looking to improve on rough seasons. The Predators have a 31-23-6 record and are near the bottom of the Central Division while the Canucks have a 25-32-5 record and are near the bottom of the Pacific Division. Both teams are looking to improve in the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Predators are having a season to forget with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.87 goals per game with only six goals in their last three games. Matt Duchene and Cody Glass have scored 27 goals and 47 assists while Roman Josi is adding 17 goals and 39 assists from the point but the rest of the offense has been awful. Only three active skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has been awful but the defense has stepped up, allowing only 2.92 goals per game. Ryan McDonagh and Roman Josi have combined for 7.8 defensive point shares and 253 blocked shots while Dante Fabbro and Alexandre Carrier have combined for 4.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Juuse Saros has been great with a .917 save percentage and a 2.75 g0als-against average on 1512 shots with 18.4 goals saved above average.
