A pair of Western Conference teams take the ice in search of a victory as they do battle in western Canada. The Nashville Predators are on the road as they make the trip to face the Vancouver Canucks Tuesday night. Nashville was victorious their last time out as they downed Toronto 3-2 at home in overtime Saturday night. Vancouver fell 4-3 in overtime at home Saturday night to the Rangers in their previous game. In the last 10 meetings between the teams, the Canucks own a 6-2-2 advantage and have won the last two meetings. That includes a 3-2 road victory in the first meeting between the teams this season October 24.

Nashville managed to pull out a win at home Saturday night in overtime as they took down Toronto for their third win in four games. The Predators improved to 4-4-0 on the season and entered Monday tied for fourth in the Central Division, four points behind the Avalanche for the top spot. Nashville is tied for 19th in the league in goals per game as they put up an average of 2.88 goals per contest this season. The Predators are 7th in goals against by allowing an average of 2.63 goals per game on the year. Nashville is 9th in the league in power play success as they cash in on 23.5% of their chances with the man advantage. The Predators are 30th in penalty killing as they successfully navigate through 69.2% of their shorthanded situations this season.

Against Toronto, Nashville rallied from a one-goal deficit twice before winning the game in overtime at hom e Saturday night. The Predators were outshot 12-6 in the opening period of play but skated to the dressing room even at one at the first intermission. After falling behind 1-0, Ryan O’Reilly knotted the score with his third goal of the season, on the power play, at 15:05 off assists from Roman Josi and Filip Forsberg. In the second period, Nashville was outshot 13-9 with each team scoring once to leave the game even at two after 40 minutes of play. After Toronto took a 2-1 lead, O’Reilly scored his second goal of the game and fourth of the season, on the power play, at 15:08 off assists from Forsberg and Luke Evangelista. The third period saw the Predators outshot 10-8 with neither side lighting the lamp, sending the game to overtime. During the extra session, Nashville had the lone shot on goal and it dented the twine, giving the Predators the win. Josi scored his first goal of the season at 2:13 of overtime off assists from Evangelista and Tommy Novak to give the Pre dators the triumph. Juuse Saros made 33 saves for the Predators, who were outshot 35-24, in the victory. He is expected to get the start in goal for this contest as well.
