The Nashville Predators are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night. Nashville rolls in off a 6-3 home victory over Montreal in their previous contest Tuesday night. Carolina was beaten 5-3 on the road by the Rangers in a Metropolitan Division matchup Tuesday night in their most recent game. In the last 10 meetings between the teams, the Hurricanes own a 6-2-2 advantage and have won the last four meetings. That includes a 5-3 home win in the most recent meeting on February 18, 2022.

Nashville ran their point streak to three games as they are 2-0-1 in that span after drubbing Montreal Tuesday night. The Predators improved to 16-14-6 on the season and entered Wednesday sixth in the Central Division, 14 points behind the Stars for the top spot. They were six points behind the Wild for the final guaranteed playoff spot and four behind the Oilers for the second wild card spot. Nashville is 27th in the league in goals per game as they put up an average of 2.69 goals per contest this season. The Predators are 14th in goals against by allowing an average of 2.89 goals per game on the year. Nashville is 28th in the league in power play success as they cash in on 17.9% of their chances with the man advantage. The Predators are 15th in penalty killing as they successfully navigate through 79% of their shorthanded situations this season.

Against Montreal, Nashville got off to a strong start and rolled the rest of the way as they earned the home win. The Predators saw the shots even in the first period with both teams firing 15 shots on goal but it was the hosts skating off with a 3-1 edge on the scoreboard. Cody Glass opened the scoring with his third goal of the season at the 4:10 mark, on the power play, with assists going to Mattias Ekholm and Nino Neiderreiter. Colton Sissons made it a 2-0 game with his fifth of the year at 5:49 off an assist from Filip Forsberg. Ekholm extended to a 3-0 lead with his third of the year at 10:42 off assists from Mikael Granlund and Neiderreiter. The Predators gave up a goal later in the period to narrow the margin to a pair. In the second period, Nashville held a 10-8 edge in shots and outscored Montreal 2-1 to take a 5-2 lead after two periods. After Montreal cut the lead to 3-2, Thomas Novak made it 4-2 with his third goal of the season at 8:18 with assists going to Yakov Trenin and Ta nner Jeannot. Roman Josi extended to a 5-2 margin with his ninth of the year at 17:48 with assists going to Novak and Neiderreiter. In the third period, the Predators held a 9-4 edge in shots on goal with each team scoring once, leaving the home team up big at the final horn. Matt Duchene made it 6-2 with his 11th goal of the year, on the power play off assists from Josi and Granlund at the 4:43 mark. The Predators gave up a goal later in the period but still skated away with the win. Juuse Saros made 24 saves for the Predators, who held a 34-27 edge in shots on goal, in the win.
