The Nashville Predators are on the road as they travel to take on the Calgary Flames Tuesday night. Nashville dropped Edmonton 5-2 on the road Saturday in their most recent contest. Calgary got back in the win column as they beat Seattle 6-3 Saturday night on the road in their previous tilt. Nashville snapped a two-game slide as they put the boots to Edmonton on the road Saturday in their previous contest. The Predators improved to 5-6-0 on the season and entered Monday tied for sixth in the Central Division, five points behind the Stars for the top spot. Nashville is tied for 20th in the league in goals per game as they put up an average of 2.91 goals per contest this season. The Predators are tied for 11th in goals against by allowing an average of 2.91 goals per game on the year. Nashville is 11th in the league in power play success as they cash in on 23.4% of their chances with the man advantage. The Predators are 31st in penalty killing as they successfully navigate through 66.7% of their shorthanded situations this season.

Against Edmonton, Nashville used a strong second period to down the Oilers on the road and get back in the win colum n. The Predators were outshot 11-10 in the opening period of play and skated off tied at one after 20 minutes of play. After Edmonton cut the lead to one, Novak restored the Predators’ two-goal advantage with his sixth of the year at 15:15 off assists from Luke Evangelista and Roman Josi. Nashville was outsho t 10-9 in the third period but scored the lone goal of the period to put the game away. O’Reilly closed the scoring with his third goal of the night and seventh of the season at 8:22 off assists from Gustav Nyquist and Carrier. Kevin Lankinen made 33 saves for the Predators, who were outshot 35-34, in the victory. Juuse Saros is slated to get the start in net for Nashville in this contest.
