The offense is great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.09 goals per game. Roman Josi and Ryan McDonagh have combined for 4.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Juuse Saros has struggled with a .903 save percentage and a 2.96 goals-against average on 987 shots with -0.9 goals saved above average.
