The Nashville Predators* (31-24-7 SU, 6th in Central Division) make the trip to California to take on the Anaheim Ducks (22-35-9 SU, 7th in Central Division) on Sunday at the Honda Center.

*Please note, this article was written prior to the conclusion of the March 11 game between the Predators and the Kings.

The Predators have won five in a row versus the Ducks, including a 6-1 road victory in December.  Six different players from Nashville scored and goalie Juuse Saros saved all but one of the Ducks’ 27 shots on net.  Nashville had 43 shots on goal and capitalized on their one power play opportunity.

Anaheim head coach John Hynes on the loss:

“It's no secret that we're in a rebuild,” Anaheim coach Dallas Eakins said. “We're trying to develop players on the fly. We're doing our best to compete eve ry night, and … when you are a team like that, you can't make mistakes, and you certainly cannot do things by yourself. We can't have guys being single contractors. You need your teammates, and you have to play the system so we can have some success. That's where it got away from us tonight.”

The Predators have lost three of the last five games overall and are 2-2 in their previous four games on the road.  They have a 15-13-4 record away from their home arena this season.  The Ducks have gone 5-3 in their last eight games overall and are 2-4 in their previous six home games.  They have a 11-16-2 record at the Honda Center this season.

The game is scheduled for 9:30PM ET.

The Predators have lost two of their last three games, including a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Arizona Coyotes (23-32-10) on the road Thursday.  Rookie goalie Ivan Prosvetov stopped 39 Predator shots in his Arizona debut for the win.  Nashville went zero for six in power play opportunities while Arizona scored once in four chances.  The Arizona defense blocked 20 shots on the night.  The Coyotes lost the shutout bid on a Cody Glass goal in the third period.

Arizona head coach Andre Tourigny on the goaltender’s unplanned call-up and debut:

“Sometimes it’s a tough situation and sometimes the best situation because you don’t overthink everything.  You don’t have time to be nervous.”

Nashville's offense ranks 24th overall in the NHL in average goals per game (2.74) and 7th in shooting percentage (9. 4%).  The defense ranks 15th in average goals allowed per game (3.3) and 6th in save percentage (91.2%).
