The Blueshirts took three separate leads before the visitors tallied twice in succession to go 4-3 up in the second period, only for New York to score three unanswered strikes, including a shorty, in the final third. Vincent Trocheck (9 goals,17 points this year) and Alexis Lafreniere (4 goals, 12 points) picked up a marker and an assist each, as the Rangers triumphed just for the second time in their past seven outings (2-4-1).

The Rangers, meanwhile, are 13th in least goals scored per game in 2022-23 (3.04), 10th in least goals allowed on average (2.93), 19th in power play (21.4%) and 10th in penalty kill (79.8%).
