The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Saturday with this interconference battle when New York Rangers travel to take on the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center at San Jose in San Jose, California.

New York dropped the opening contest of their four-game road trip when they fell in overtime to Seattle on Thursday, 3-2. The Sharks saw their three-game winning streak come to an end when they lost to Detroit at home on Thursday, 7-4. The Sharks beat the Rangers in overtime when these teams met in New York on October 20, 3-2.

The New York Rangers (8-6-4, 6-12 ATS) lost to the Seattle Kraken in overtime on Thursday, 3-2. The Rangers twice trailed by a goal in this contest but used power-play tallies to tie the score each time. New York finished 2-4 on the power-play, and are eighth in power-play efficiency at 24.6%. The team has been great on special teams overall, sixth in penalty killing at 82.8%.

“First period was great, second period was awful, and the third period was pretty even,” New York coach Gerard Gallant said. “There was some good stuff, but there was some bad stuff in the second period that we got away from what we did in the first period.”

Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck provided the goals for New York. Igor Shesterkin stopped 29 shots. Shesterkin (8-2-3, 2.44, .914) has been very impressive for the Rangers, helping them to 11th in goals allowed per game at 2.78. Adam Fox has been on a roll for the Rangers, scoring seven assists and nine points over his last five games.
