A season-long six-game winning streak brings the New York Rangers (4th in Metropolitan Division) to Chicago, where they will play the second part of their current back-to-back stretch against the struggling Blackhawks (8th in Central).

The current season-long winning streak of the New York Rangers (17-10-5) extended to six contests after the team embarked on its newest three-date road trip with a victory in the first half of a back-to-back set, beating the Philadelphia Flyers with a count of 6-3 at Wells Fargo Center last night. Six different players lit the lamp, with Artemi Panarin (7 goals, 37 points this year), K’Andre Miller (2 goals, 15 points) and Barclay Goodrow (7 goals, 15 points) registering a snipe an an assist each for the Blueshirts, who are riding a four-game triumph run on the road.

Goalie Jaroslav Halak (2-6-1 on the season with a 3.04 GAA and a .890 save percentage) stopped 29 shots yesterday, but will free up the blue paint for Igor Shesterkin ahead of tonight’s trip to Chi-Town. Shesterkin, who has posted a 15-4-4 tally for the o ngoing campaign with a 2.45 GAA and a .917 save percentage, has won his only previous start against the Chicago Blackhawks, making 37 saves on 40 shots (.925 save percentage). The Rangers, meanwhile, are 16th in least goals scored per game this year (3.16), 6th in least goals allowed on average (2.75), 12th in power play (23.2%) and 6th in penalty kill (81.4%).
