The Murray State Racers will travel to the Redbird Arena on Wednesday night in a Missouri Valley Conference matchup to take on the Illinois State Redbirds. The Racers are 13-13 (8-8) so far this season and are riding a three-game losing streak after coming off an 83-48 road loss on Saturday against the Bradley Braves. The Redbirds are a struggling 10-17 (5-11) right now and are also riding a three-game losing streak after an 81-76 road loss on Saturday against the Valparaiso Beacons. These programs played on Dec. 1 and the Racers picked up a 70-67 overtime home win. 

The Murray State Racers have been doing decently well, but are coming off a massive 83-48 road loss against the Bradley Braves. They struggled defensively as they gave up 53 points in the second half. They shot the ball at a low level from three as they were just 13-of-44 (29.5 percent) overall, 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) from three, and 27 free-throw attempts. Junior forward DJ Burns led the team as in 21 minutes he finished with 10 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Defensively, they were awful as they allowed 54.4 percent from the floor and 45.8 from deep here. Murray State needs to be pesty as they finished with just three steals and zero blocks throughout the game after forcing eight turnovers. 

The Murray State Racers are struggling a bit this season as they are 225th in the nation with 69.9 points per game thus far and shooting a decent 43.9 percent from the floor and are averaging 11.6 assists per game. Defensively, they are giving up 72.6 points per game, which is 264th in the country. They need to force more mistakes with 2.8 blocks and 5.4 steals per game thus far.
