The Murray State Racers and Drake Bulldogs face off on Friday in a college basketball showdown in the Missouri Valley Tournament at the Enterprise Center. When these two teams faced off on February 7th it was Drake that was able to secure the 92-68 victory.
Murray State comes into this game with a 17-14 record overall and they are coming off a win on Thursday. The offense scored 78 points against Valparaiso and that was enough to win by 28 points. Jamari Smith had a strong game finishing with 19 points in 22 minutes. Murray State is averaging 70.5 points while their defense is giving up 72.5 points per game. Rob Perry has been the top player so far this season for Murray State averaging 14.1 points while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from behind the three point line. The defense struggle in the last game against Drake and that can’t happen again in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is Drake who sits with a 24-7 record overall but they are coming off a disappointing loss in the last game. Drake managed only 61 points against Bradley and that led to the 12 point loss. DJ Wilkins was the top player for Drake finishing with 14 points, five rebounds, and two assists. There are five different players that finished with at least 10 points. Drake is averaging 75.6 points while their defense is giving up 64.8 points per game. Tucker DeVries has been the top player for Drake averaging 18.9 points while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from behind the three point line.
