The Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers will make the 90-minute trip down to Annapolis and take on the Navy Midshipmen from Alumni Hall. The Mountaineers and Midshipmen have faced off nine times, with Navy holding the 6-3 series lead after a 27-point win last season.
Mount St. Mary’s improved to 3-3 after a win over Pacific in Stockton. The Mountaineers and Tigers went down to the wire, with MSM (+6.5) pulling away with the road underdog victory. MSM is scoring 68.7 points per game, while shooting 39.9% from the field, and 33.6% from three.
Jalen Benjamin has been the number one guy for The Mount. The 5’10 guard scored a game-high 19 points in the win over Pacific and he leads MSM in scoring (18.8) and assists (6.0). Fifth-year senior Malik Jefferson double-doubled twice during their west coast road trip, and he leads the team in rebounding (9.1), while scoring 11.2 ppg.
