The Montreal Canadiens (12-11-1, 25 points, 6th Atlantic) continue their west coast trek north of the border on Monday when paying a visit to the Vancouver Canucks (10-12-3, 23 points, 6th Pacific). Montreal lost to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night 5-3 in their second of four games out west. The Canadiens have lost two of the last three and trail 1st place Boston 15 points. Vancouver defeated the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 on Saturday to snap a two-game losing streak. The Canucks have won four of the last six. Paul Byron, Jonathan Drouin, Brendan Gallagher, Mike Hoffman, and Carey Price are out for Montreal. Thatcher Demko, Travis Dermott, Dakota Joshua, Tanner Pearson and Tucker Poolman are out for Vancouver

The Montreal Canadiens are scoring an average of just 2.79 goals per game which is 26th in the NHL. Montreal is also 26th in shots with an average of 29.8 per game. The Canadians are 30th on the power play, scoring only 15.5% at a time with the man advantage. Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield each have scored 13 goals to lead Montreal.
