We have a Colonial Athletic Association NCAA Men’s Basketball game on Thursday evening as the Monmouth Hawks will head to the Convocation Center to take on the Monmouth Hawks. The Hawks are a brutal 6-23 (5-11) up to this point and are riding a two-game losing streak after coming off a 75-68 home loss on Saturday against the Elon Phoenix. The Pirates are currently 7-22 (4-12) so far and are coming off a 75-72 home win on Saturday against the Hampton Pirates. These programs faced off against one another on Jan. 21 and Hampton picked up an 83-66 road win.

The Monmouth Hawks have been doing an absolutely brutal job offensively this season as they are averaging just 60.3 points while shooting 39.5 percent from the field. They have been passing the ball at a low rate this season with 11.4 assists per game so far. Junior forward Myles Foster has led the way for the Hawks as he is averaging 11.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.3 blocks, 1.3 steals, and 2.2 turnovers in 29.7 minutes per game.

Their defense has been struggling a bit on this side of the floor as they are giving up 75.1 points per game up to this point. However, they are forcing mistakes at a solid level as they are averaging 2.7 blocks and 8.4 steals per game up to this point. If they can figure out how to score the ball a bit better, there will be a chance for this team to wake up and be more productive.
