MLB Prop Picks & Best Bets – Yelich to Take Advantage of Poor Red Sox Pitching?
MLB Prop Picks & Best Bets – Yelich to Take Advantage of Poor Red Sox Pitching?iv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

Six teams go for sweeps on Sunday as another exciting week of Major League Baseball concludes. Read on for our top MLB prop picks for Sunday based on the best MLB odds from our best sportsbooks.

Don't look now, but the Baltimore Orioles (five games) and Pittsburgh Pirates (six games) hold the longest winning streaks in each league. While Baltimore started its upward trend in 2022 with an 83-79 record, Pittsburgh lost 100 games. That makes the team's pace for 110 victories even more surprising. Will each winning streak continue on Sunday?

Here are our top MLB prop picks and best bets for Sunday (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and WynnBet; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Sunday's MLB prop picks

Anthony Rizzo doesn't boast the best numbers against Blue Jays righty Kevin Gausman, going 4-for-18 (.222) with just one extra-base hit.

However, many of those at-bats ended in shift-induced outs. Rizzo entered the Blue Jays series with the fourth-highest batting average in the American League, and his .319 averag e is still good for 18th in the majors.

He's also top 20 in WAR, and his presence in the lineup behind Aaron Judge is enormous, as there isn't much protection for the AL MVP with Giancarlo Stanton on the IL.

Speaking of Judge, he's slashing .375/.516/.833 against Gausman. So between him and speedster Anthony Volpe, there figures to be plenty of traffic on the basepaths for Rizzo.

DraftKings provides much better value than FanDuel (+135) and Caesars (+162) for this wager.

Twins righty Bailey Ober will be called up for his first start of the season to help the team end a disappointing four-game losing streak and to avoid an embarrassing home sweep at the hands of the Nationals.

With the likelihood of more run support on Sunday, we're taking a cha nce with plus odds (Caesars Sportsbook is at -110 for the same wager) that Corbin can complete six innings for the second time in three starts.

After losing his first two starts by a combined score of 14-4, the Nationals have won Corbin's last two while giving him much better run support (13 runs over the previous 17 innings). Corbin faces a Twins offense that's 24th in BABIP, 17th in wOBA, and 16th in walk percentage over the last seven days.

This is a three-star play because he's been able to complete five innings in his previous three starts despite allowing four-plus runs in each outing. The team clearly expects innings out of him, even when Corbin doesn't have his best stuff.

Milwaukee's sizzling 15-6 start is due to a surprising offense that entered Saturday ranked fourth in BABIP (.320) and 13th in hard-hit rate. The Brewers figure to hit plenty of balls hard ag ainst Red Sox righty Brayan Bello, who allowed a hard-hit percentage of 63.6% in his first start of the season earlier this week. Bello is 1-4 with a 5.28 ERA in seven road appearances (six starts).

Christian Yelich is one of four Milwaukee hitters who's faced Bello (he's 1-for-2), and his .319 OBP entering Saturday is due to regress toward his career average of .375. Nevertheless, Yelich leads all Brewers with 19 runs scored, and we expect him to cross the plate for the fourth time in the last six games.

Yelich gets slightly steeper -119 odds at Caesars and -135 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook to score at least one run.

Sunday's MLB game picks

Chicago starts the day 12-8 and on pace for 97 wins, and the team boasts the best run differential (plus-43) in the National Leag ue. We're therefore getting tremendous value with the Cubs as underdogs, and their best pitcher is on the mound against a team Marcus Stroman has historically performed well against.

Stroman has held current Los Angeles Dodgers to a .209/.284/.263 slash line across 86 combined at-bats, with 21 of the 68 outs coming via strikeout. He's enjoyed outstanding success against three of the Dodgers' most feared hitters, as Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and J.D. Martinez are a combined 12-for-63 with zero home runs against the righty.

And while Clayton Kershaw has limited current Cubs to a .298/.310/.417 slash line, his 9.4 K/9 rate is on pace to be his second-lowest since 2013. Also, his 3.42 FIP could result in his second-highest result since Kershaw's rookie year in 2008.

This is also a four-star play because Wrigley Field is one of two ballparks where Kershaw has produced a re cord under .500 (2-3).

WynnBet is the only sportsbook offering odds higher than +120 for the Cubs to win outright.
