MLB Prop Picks & Best Bets – Will Goldschmidt Get Hot in London?iv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

Fifteen series come to an end today, and only three teams are in position for sweeps as parity in Major League Baseball has reigned supreme over the weekend. Let's examine the matchups with our top MLB prop picks and best bets for Sunday based on the leading MLB odds from our best sports betting apps.

After the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves split the first two games of their series this weekend, the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers were left as the only teams with active winning streaks of more than two contests heading into Sunday's action (four each).

Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Angels had scored four total runs during a three-game losing streak, then exploded for franchise records with 25 runs and 28 hits against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Here are our top MLB prop pic ks and best bets for Sunday (odds via DraftKings, FanDuel, PointsBet, and WynnBet; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Sunday'sMLB prop picks

It's difficult to fade Chicago Cubs righty Marcus Stroman, who has won seven consecutive starts while pitching to a 1.29 ERA and 0.86 WHIP. But if anything can cool off a red-hot starter, it's the hitter-friendly London Stadium.

The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees combined for 10 home runs and 50 runs over two games in 2019, exceeding projected totals of 11.5 and 15. And even though the fences have been moved back as much as seven feet from that series, there were still 10 runs during Saturday's opener.

The St. Louis Cardinals entered Saturday ranked 13th against southpaws in wRC+ and ninth against righties. And one year after leading the league in almost every major category against left-handed pitching, Paul Goldschmidt's .913 OPS vs. righties is higher than his .739 against lefties, as is his extra-base hit rate (43.5% vs. 28.6% against lefties).

This is a three-star play, as Goldschmidt was 9-for-24 hitting with a .375/.444 /.500 slash line in international games leading up to Saturday's opener. There's not much difference in the pricing between our best sportsbooks for this wager, as DraftKings also offers +125 odds, while Caesars is slightly lower at +123.

Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker isn't afraid to let Charlie Morton's pitch count go high, even when the righty isn't at his best. Morton has thrown 92-plus pitches in 10 consecutive starts despite allowing at least three runs in five of those outings.

He now faces a Cincinnati Reds lineup that's averaging 6.6 runs per game during a 12-game winning streak entering Saturday and slugged .489 while belting 22 home runs. The team's 121 wRC+ was also tied for third, but the Braves had a league-leading 142 in that category. Another productive day from his offense s hould result in a longer leash for Morton.

This is a four-star play, as Morton's 5.9 barrels/plate appearance puts him on pace to set a career-high. He's also allowed an expected batting average and slugging of .311 and .492, respectively, on his fastball, a pitch he throws 34.1% of the time.

DraftKings offers slightly better value than Caesars' -113 odds for this wager.

Only five MLB teams are 12-plus games over .500 against right-handed starting pitchers in 2023, including the Arizona Diamondbacks. Rookie Corbin Carroll enters the day with -500 odds at DraftKings to win the NL Rookie of the Year Award largely because of his production against righties.

Carroll leads all NL players with a .427 wOBA and 1.022 OPS, and he's second only to Juan Soto in wRC+ against right-handed hurlers. His .633 slugging against righties bodes well for h is chances of success against Anthony DeSclafani, who ranks in the 27th percentile or worse in expected slugging and batting average, and hard-hit contact. And we're not worried about Carroll's 20.8% strikeout rate against righties since DeSclafani ranks in the 11th percentile in whiff percentage.

FanDuel is our go-to shop for this wager, as PointsBet is the next-closest in value at +135 odds.

Sunday's MLB game picks

Gerrit Cole's 3.3 WAR seems to shortchange just how important he's been to the New York Yankees in 2023. Cole is the only Yankees starter who has logged at least 10 outings with an ERA lower than 4.30, and the team is 12-4 in his 16 starts and 30-31 when he doesn't toe the rubber. And three of those four losses came in extra innings, and he allowed just one earned ru n over 12 frames across the last two such defeats.

The Texas Rangers entered Saturday with a 128 wRC+, 11% walk rate, and .818 OPS in June against right-handed starting pitchers. Meanwhile, the Yankees produced the worst wRC+ against righties with a .620 OPS in June, and they desperately miss Aaron Judge's bat.

However, this play is a fade of Nathan Eovaldi, whose four-seam fastball averaged just 93.8 mph during his last start. Eovaldi has made just 16 combined starts from June onward in 2021 and 2022. It's fair to wonder if the early innings load in 2023 is catching up to him, as he's already just 10 innings shy of his total all last season.

WynnBet is one of the only sportsbooks that allows bettors to back the Yankees at longer than -115 odds.
