MLB Gas Cans Of The Day For Saturday, Oct. 1

Opposing offenses are in great spots

Cleveland Guardians vs. Kris Bubic (5.81 ERA), Kansas City Royals

The Guardians have already locked up the AL Central after the White Sox quit on the season, and they have proven they are the best team in this division overall. They are very young, but they have a ton of talent and potential, and making the postseason this year is a huge accom plishment with the roster they have. The rest of the regular season doesn't really matter that much for Cleveland, but they are still playing their starters. That is not good news for Royals starting pitcher Kris Bubic.

In his last start, Bubic pitched 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six batters in a no-decision versus Seattle. He threw only 57 of 103 pitches for strikes and walked four batters. He finally put a halt to a streak of seven straight losing starts that extended back to mid-August. Bubic had posted an ugly 7.83 ERA and 2.10 WHIP during the poor stretch, but he finally put together a start that wasn't an absolute disaster.
