Missouri vs. Tennessee Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-12-2022

No. 5 Tennessee will be looking to get back on track following its blowout loss to Georgia when it faces Missouri at Neyland Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 21-17 loss to Kentucky last week. Tennessee exploded for 62 points when these teams met last year, running away with the game as a 2.5-point road underdog.

Missouri enters this game with a less than stellar 4-5 record, but the Tigers have been sneakily competitive in the SEC. Their four conference losses have all come by one possession, including last week’s 21-17 setback against Kentucky. They held a two-possession lead against No. 1 Georgia in the beginning of October before squandering that lead down the stretch. Missouri also lost to Florida by a touchdown before beating Vanderbilt and South Carolina in consecutive games to close the month. The Tigers need to win two of their final three games to earn bowl eligibility—their other two games are against New Mexico State and Arkansas.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz has yet to have a winning season in his three campaigns at the helm, but the school still announced a contract extension through the 2027 season for him. The four SEC losses coming by a combined 18 points certainly contribute to the sentiment that Missouri is heading in the right direction. Missouri racked up a season-high five sacks against Kentucky. Offensively, sophomore quarterback Brady Cook has thrown for 1,790 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions. His top target has been sophomore wide receiver Dominic Lovett, who has 45 receptions for 659 yards and two scores. Senior running back Cody Schrader has rushed for 508 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per attempt.
