The Mississippi State Bulldogs will travel and take on the Auburn Tigers in SEC play this Saturday night from the Neville Arena.
Mississippi State dropped to 12-4 after losing to Georgia. State would fall to UGA in the battle of bulldogs after squandering offensively in the second half, and losing by eight points. Mississippi State is scoring 69.9 points per game, while shooting 43.4% from the floor, and 31.2% from deep.
Mississippi State has jumped out to one of the best starts in school history behind an imposing frontcourt. Tolu Smith has been a menace on the block. The 6 '11 big grabbed 16 rebounds in both three-point wins over Utah and Marquette, and he leads State in scoring (13.6) and rebounding (7.6). Memphis transfer D.J. Jeffries joins him up front, and he’s second on the team with 9.2 ppg and 6.2 rpg. Former Oregon State guard Dashawn Davis (9.3 ppg) reached double figures in both wins over Utah and Marquette.
