Minnesota Wild (13-10-2) vs. Vancouver Canucks (12-12-3)

The NHL betting action goes on with an eight-game Saturday card including the Western Conference showdown between the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks at Rodgers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Minnesota takes on Vancouver for the second time this season and the Wild open as slight road favorites. Back in October, Minnesota outlasted Vancouver 4-3 in overtime as a -175 home fave with a total of 6.5 goals.

Friday’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the Minnesota Wild visited the Edmonton Oilers, hoping to bounce back from a 5-3 defeat at the Calgary Flames. Last Wednesday, the Wild put an end to their four-game winning streak, blowing a 2-0 lead at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.

The Flames turned the game on its head with three straight goals in the second period. The Wild tied it at 3-3 with 4:15 left on the clock in the third, but Calgary needed just 12 seconds to regain the lead.

“I think we’ve got to find a way when we’re ahead to stay calm but still play with the pace (and) still be aggressive out there,” Minnesota goalie Marc-Andre Fleury said. “Got to make a few saves, too, and help the guys out.”

Kirill Kaprizov gave the Wild a 1-0 lead in Calgary, extending his goal streak to seven games. He’s also recorded at least a point in 13 consecutive games to set the franchise record. Marc-Andre Fleury yielded four goals on 26 shots against the Flames and fell to 9-6-1 on the season. He holds an underwhelming 3.10 GAA and .892 save percentage, while Filip Gustavson is 4-4-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .909 save percentage.

The Wild rank 17th in the NHL in goals against (3.12 per game) and 18th in goals for (also 3.12). They own the 11th-best power-play percentage (20-for-82) and the 12th-worst penalty-killing percentage in the NHL (79.8%). The Wild pace the league in both penalties in minutes per game (13.2) and opposing penalties in minutes per game (14.0).
