The Minnesota Wild face the Toronto Maple Leafs with both teams looking to improve on strong seasons. The Wild have a 32-21-5 record and with four wins in a row are near the top of the Central Division while the Maple Leafs have a 35-15-8 record and are in second place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams look to continue to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a great one.

The Wild are having a great season but hope their offense improves, scoring only 2.86 goals per game. Kirill Kaprizov has 34 goals and 34 assists while Mats Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson Ek have added 41 goals and 61 assists to the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has stepped up, allowing only 2.79 goals per game. Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin have combined for 8.4 defensive point shares and 241 blocked shots while Jacob Middleton and Mathew Dumba have combined for 5.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Filip Gustavsson has been great with a .928 save percentage and a 2.11 goals-against average on 738 shots with 16.7 goals saved above average.
