Brock Faber scored his first NHL goal at the 7:54 mark of the period off assists from Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek to give the Wild the only marker they would need on the night. In the second period, Minnesota was outshot 12-11 but outscored Florida 1-0 to double their lead at the second intermission. Eriksson Ek made it a 2-0 game with his first goal of the season, on the power play, at 12:56 off assists from Mats Zuccarello and Kirill Kaprizov.
