Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders – 8/14/22 NFL Picks and Prediction

The Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders face off on Sunday in an NFL preseason game at Allegiant Stadium. When these two teams faced off in September of 2019 it was the Vikings that won 34-14.

The Vikings were disappointing last season so the team decided to make a change at coach during the offseason. Gone is Mike Zimmer and in his Kevin O’Connell who was a part of the Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams last season. Vikings starting quarterback Kirk Cousins is out with COVID, but before that was even announced, he wasn’t expected to play in this game. Sean Mannion is expected to start and Kellen Mond is also expected to play a big role in this game. All eyes are going to be on the offense to try and get a feel about what the O’Connell offense is going to look like.

On the other side of this matchup is the Raiders who are a part of a tough AFC West, and they want to make sure they are as healthy as possible heading into this season. Derek Carr will be the starter under center in Week 1, but it’s unclear if he will play any snaps in this game. Behind Carr is Jarrett Stidham, Nick Mullens, and Chase Garbers and all of those players should get plenty of playing time in this game. The Raiders have already played a preseason game this year, beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-11 in the Hall of Fame game. Running back Zamir White had a big game rushing 11 times for 52 yards.
