Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-5-2022

Finally, mercifully for some teams, the 2022 Major League Baseball regular season will come to a close on Wednesday. Two teams that had high aspirations fall short will do battle in Chicago as the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox do battle, both an afterthoughts in the AL Central Division. On the mound in the season finale will be righty Louie Varland (0-2, 4.71) of the Twins taking on fellow righty Davis Martin (3-5, 3.65) of the White Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10pm EST.

The Minnesota Twins are ready to put the 2022 season in the rearview mirror after a disappointing second half found the team dropping from first place to third and wrapping up the season with a losing record. Bags are packed and the Twins are ready to hit the links while the front office sorts out how to move forward for next season. On Tuesday night against the White Sox, the struggling Twins never got going on offense and went through five pitchers in a lopsided loss to Chicago. Minnesota is now a season-high seven games under .500.

Minnesota wraps up a season full of promise that has ended with a thud. Minnesota will finish the season under .500 after being buyers at the trade deadline, expecting a post season run. On the mound to wrap up the season will be Louie Varland. Varland will get the start as the Twins injuries piled up over the final several weeks, losing both Sonny Gray and Tyler Mahle for the season. Varland is 0-2 in four starts this season allowing 22 hits in 21 innings including four home runs. He has struck out 16 in those 21 innings.
