Milwaukee Bucks at New York Knicks – 1/9/23 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks duke it out at Madison Square Garden on Monday night in NBA action.

The Milwaukee Bucks have cooled off lately as they’ve won just three of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting thrashed by the Hornets in a 138-109 loss on Friday. Bobby Portis led the team in scoring with 19 points, 12 rebounds and three assists, AJ Green added 13 points off the bench, while Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen each scored 12 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Bucks shot 44 percent from the field and 20 of 48 from the 3-point line, but they weren’t at their usual standards on the defensive end and were always fighting a losing battle after getting outscored by a ridiculous 51-28 in the first quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo had his worst game in recent memory as he finished with a season-low nine points on two of seven shooting while Thanasis Antetokounmpo finished with just two points on zero of six shooting.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have won 12 of their last 17 games overall and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after sneaking past the Raptors in a 112-108 road win on Friday. Julius Randle led the team with 32 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, Jalen Brunson added 26 points with eight assists while Mitchell Robinson chipped in with 10 points and 18 rebounds. As a team, the Knicks shot 47 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line, but this win was more about their defense as they held the Raptors to just 21 points in the second quarter to take the early lead, before going on a decisive 18-6 in the fourth quarter to pull away and lead by as many as 17 points before the Raptors rallied to make it interesting late.
